VirusScan Enterprise 8.5i and SBS 2003

We are running the above combinations and every time that I change a VirusScan setting it is automatically restored to the previous setting within a few minutes. Clearly there must be some process running but I have no idea where.

Anyone help please?

RE: VirusScan Enterprise 8.5i and SBS 2003

Is the VSE install managed by an EPO agent that connects to a central EPO server, this would manage the servers AV policies and if you change them set them back to what your AV administrator has set for this server?

Or is it not managed?

what are you trying to alter?

RE: VirusScan Enterprise 8.5i and SBS 2003

I think there is a EPO agent ( I have never used McAfee before, so I do not understand the terminology). The "Prevent Mass Mailing Worms..." in the "Access Protection" is stopping the beserver.exe sending emails of the backup status. When I add the program to the allowed list, it is changed back within a few minutes.

I have found the McAfee ProtectionPilot, but that does not seem to help.

Thanks for any help you can give.

you need to contact you Protection pilot administrator and get him to place an additional policy on this box exempting the service then.

How do I do it?
