VSE Engine 6010 compatibilities (OS/Patch)

Jump to solution

Hello

We are using McAfee EPO 5.1.2 and 5.9, VSE 8.7 and VSE 8.8 patch 6-13 (based on OS), VSE engine 5x00-6000 in our infrastructure.
We would like to know if we can push VSE engine 6010 to every systems (from Windows XP to Windows 10, Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2019) without any issues?
Or the VSE engine 6010 may affect our legacy systems/VSE versions and make the systems crash/encounter issues ?

I did not find my answer yet in the forums/mcafee kbs.

Thanks in advance

Hello @Skythein

Thanks for your post!

I would like to request you to please refer the below link for the supported engine version:

https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB51111

Supported Engine version:

1 The 5800 and 5900 Scan Engines both support Windows 10 when Patch 6 or later is also installed.
2 The 6000 Scan Engine is compatible with all currently supported versions of VSE 8.8. But, testing was limited to Patch 11 and Patch 12.
3 The 6010 Scan Engine is compatible with all currently supported versions of VSE 8.8. It has been tested with Patch 13. The 6010 Scan Engine is only included in the full installation package.

Other thing i would like to inform you that ePO 5.1.2 and VSE 8.7 is end of life and end of support.

IMPORTANT: Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 are not supported. Patch 7 is the last patch that can install on these systems.

So as per the testing it seems you can not apply the engine to windows 2003 and on windows xp.
