Upgrading ePO 4.5 to 5.1

Hi guys,

i just need some help and tips on how to upgrade ePO 4.5 to 5.1

What are some of the things that i need to be aware of etc.

Current system:  ePO 4.5

                            SQL 2005

                            Windows server 2003

I am not allowed to do any upgrade to our current SQL 2005 server. so in that case i will need to build a new possibly 2012 one.

I will also be building windows server 2012 for the upgrade.

Also is there a way to EXPORT the policies from 4.5 and IMPORT it to 5.1?

Please give me any tips and notes and things i should be aware of before i perform the upgrade.

i have also read the upgrade manual and it seems to be quite straight forward

appreciate your help guys

cheers

I believe, installation document covers this point.

You will export and import the ePO settings from old server to new server with the help of "Upgrade and Migration tool".

Please look into installation guide 46 #:

Re: Upgrading ePO 4.5 to 5.1

Additionally as per the installation guide page 12, SQL 2005 is not supported SQL server.

You need to migrate the DB from SQL 2005 to either SQL 2008 or SQL 2012.

For instructions please refer to KB#:
