Upgrade ePol 5.3.1 to 5.9 SQL Free Disk Space

Jump to solution

Hello,

we want to upgrade our ePolicy server to version 5.9.

After some issues the Upgrade fail with the error message: The SQL database needs more free space or setup will fail.

It needs two times the current database size to continue.

We use a 2008 R2 SQL Express and the database only have 500 MB free disk Space 😳!

I think thats to much for 400 clients...

We run the purge tasks and finally found that kb: https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB79561&pmv=print&glossary=true

I´m not sure if it´s the right way...

My question is do anyone has a other solution or had the same problem?

To truncate snapshot table, you can use #: truncate table Orionsnapshot

One thing to check is to make sure you aren't running the snapshot disaster recovery task.  That will fill up an Express database.  You can check the orionsnapshot table to make sure there isn't anything in it.  If there is, you can truncate it by using this script:

delete from orionshanpshot

otherwise you might want to check which tables are taking up the room.  KB85506 has info on that.  Keep in mind, only events and the snapshot table can be purged safely.
