Upgrade agent and point to new epo server

I recently installed latest version of EPO and did an AD synch with a forced install to upgrade the agent. (the existing old agent pointed to old server) I still have a lot of unmanaged machines for the new server. Is the best way to do it just run a scheduled AD synch and force install on new agents (will this also try unmanaged agents that are already in the database)

Re: Upgrade agent and point to new epo server

Hello,

Yes this the correct way but machine will back to existing ePO server. Do you want to report all machines to new ePO server after agent upgrade?

Re: Upgrade agent and point to new epo server

Yes, the old server will be decommisioned so all the new agents will report into the new server. How will it go back to the old server If I push out agent from new server ?

Re: Upgrade agent and point to new epo server

Hi

You don't need to 'Force installation over existing version' if you are deploying the same number. This process will only replace the SiteList.xml file, which is used to configure the server the endpoint agent is configure to connect to, and update the Server Key to enable the secure communication.
