Tagging of virtual systems possible?

Jump to solution

Hello altogether,

I'm searching for the possibility to tag systems dependent of they are virtualized or not.

The background is that I want to create seperate Tasks for weekly AV scanning for the virtualized systems only in order to decrease the CPU and memory peaks on the ESX when all virtual machines are scanned simultaneously.

In this special case I want to find a way for automated tagging to find me all Systems which are virtualized with VMWare in order to define individual groups.

I have an overview of about 300 virtualized servers but see no way to map this in the ePO management. I did not find any unique feature in the system properties which match for 100% in all virtualized systems.

Maybe anyone already faced this problem and can give me a hint in solving it?!

Thanks in advance,

Thomas

Hi,

it is very easy, because the begin of the mac-address is unique

use tag filter "mac address begins with 005056"

Best Regards
