Smartfilter not stopping https sites

I am having the annoying issue of smartfilter not stopping any https sites. for instance, http://www.facebook.com is being blocked but https://www.facebook.com is not.

on the global block list i have:

https://www.facebook.com

http://www.facebook.com

*://www.facebook.com

and

*://facebook.com

nothing will stop https://www.facebook.com

Any Ideas?
