Server and client communcating but unmanaged status still shows on ePO 5

Jump to solution

Hi,

I'm having a problem with ePO 5.

Some machines stopped the communication with the server in May of this year.

Today I've created a new server and installed the McAfee Agent on it.

The agent was installed, and I give the "Wake up agent" command...

Look how the machine is on my ePO:

So I couldn't install VirusScan on it using ePO.

But when I've installed it manually and told it to update... it gives me the right info about my ePO server and updated the product.

When I try to show the agent log, it opens normally:

And still no "managed" status on the ePO...

I'm worried about something else not working anymore.

Whe have ePO 5.0 since April of this year and it was working fine til now.

Hi Laslo G,

I found the server yesterday on the "Lost & Found" group, so I've waited til this morning to see if it was going to move to right group before the AD sync task.

What I've seen today is that the machine still was in that group......

My AD sync task deletes machines that doen's exist on the AD anymore (same for OUs) and moves the machines to their correct group.

That task runs every 2 hours.

Maybe support guys didn't removed the machine from AD, formatted and then added it again in AD before the sync task ran.

That is the only reason I can imagine now to have two registers of some machines in my ePO.

But thanks for the answer!

Hi vandreytrindade, did you have a look at the Lost&Found group if this server has also been created there with status managed?

Even if the server is the same ePO assigned two different GUID for them so they are different computers for it.

You shoulkd delete the old server and the new one will move to the correct group
