Second ePO Server with different Version

Jump to solution

Hi,

I would like to know if it is possible to have 2 ePO Servers with different Versions running? 1 ePO Server with the latest Client Software and ePO Version and 1 ePO Server for older clients (XP, server 2003 & 2008, etc.)

Hi @A_K,

Each of the ePOs can see and manage only those machines that report to them (Agents deployed from the respective ePOs). They will not be able to manage Agents reporting to other ePO or vice versa!

I sincerely hope this clarifies your query!

As Far as deployment strategy goes, It would completely upto you depending on what products you wish to deploy and what version of you would be using!

For supported MA version of respective Operating Systems you can refer the KB below:

https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB51573

Also we have a compatible product list of each version McAfee Agent!

For example, for MA 5.6.0 and 5.6.1:

https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB90494

for MA 5.5.1 and 5.5.2:

https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB90494

and so on!

Hi @A_K,

Thank you for your post! Yes you can have 2 different ePOs running in the same environment as long as these ePOs are managing different set of machines on their own and are not related to each other.

thnx for the fast Reply!

Would that be best practice with this scenario?

ePO 1 = older Clients (XP, 2003, 2008, some linux, etc.) with the corresponding ePO and Cient Software Versions

ePO 2 = newer Clients with ePO and Client Software on "Last Level -1"

Will both ePO "see" all the clients or is the ePO Instance limited to their own set of clients?
