Reference Configurations QQ: how to determine what's the most suitable version for fresh deployment

Hi There,

We are going to deploy mcafee (fresh installation) to around 1000 client machines. below is a list of products needs to be installed:

=====================================================

Endpoint Products:  ENS(TP+ATP) | DXL Client | MAR Client | MDE

Server Products:  EPO | TIE Server | DXL Broker | MAR Server

OS: Windows 10 1803-1903

=====================================================

Currently I'm looking for the  mcafee recommended version (most stable) for the above products , and i finaly found https://rcsearch.mcafee.com/ and KB91871, it's very helpful but seems not good enough...

For example, In KB 91871, the recommended ENS version for Windows 10 1903 is (ENSTP: 10.6.1.1666; ENSATP:10.6.1.1421), but both of it are removed from mcafee product download site.

Can you give some more suggestions on how to determine what is the most suitable version for my customer?  i suppose it's usually not recommended to use the lastest version. thanks in advance!!

Hi eg211,

ENS 10.6 is still available in product download. You have to uncheck "show only latest". I would suggest you to ENS 10.7 which is a latest version. Before that install ENS 10.7 on couple of machines and monitor the performance and other stuff than go for mass deployment.

Hi @LKS , thanks, actually i unchecked "show only latest" and still cant find the mentioned version in KB91871.

My main concern is i want to find the most stable version, and use them for deployment.

Regarding to the latest versions, i understand that they usually contain latest fixes and new features, but in a way they usually are not the most stable version.. that's why i'm looking for reference configuration suggestions here.

Hi eg211,

We do intensive testing before we release the product. Since every environment is different than one another, unfortunately we can't cover every single scenario that is out there. Which is why we always recommend you to test the product on couple of machines before you go for mass deployment.

HI @LKS ,

Thanks, i understand.

Btw, other than mcafee reference configuration website, do you know any other mcafee external resources that can help us find the 'most stable' product versions?
