Query Error

query_error.PNG

Hello: I was trying to create a new query to go along with a server task, that will tag computers based on what version of ENS they have. I went back to look at old examples in EPO, as we had queries for ENS 10.5 and older agents. I may have clicked something incorrectly and broken this, as this query was working previously. Any ideas?

That would explain it.  In software manager, there is a 10.6.1 bundle for endpoint security.  Since you have the product in the master repository evaluation branch, then download the bundle instead of checking it in.  You will need the endpoint security platform, firewall, threat prevention, web control, common catalog framework, and common catalog extensions as a minimum.  If you are not sure which is an extension and which is a package, the file name should have either extension or ext in it.  All help zip files are also extensions.

Older product extensions may refer to a section in database that the newer extension modifies.  Upgrading or removing an extension could possibly break some queries, depending on how they are configured.  If you create a new one, do you get errors?  I would recommend recreating your query.  If you look at your database in sql management studio - expand the database to views, scroll down to epoprodpropsview - is there one listed as epoprodpropsview_endpointsecurityplatform?  If so, is there a column named productversion?  If not, what extension versions and builds are installed in epo for ENS?  I would like to see screenshot of the entire list of ens extensions checked in.

Above are screenshots, let me know if I didn't get what you needed.

Our database guy is looking for the info you requested... it would probably take me longer to install Management Studio than it would take him to look as he already has it.

That doesn't really show all the extensions checked in.  Please go to software, extensions, endpoint security, then get screenshots of all the different extensions and versions for ens.  You may have to take a couple of screenshots to get them all.

Well this is weird... I don't see ENS listed.

I recently went through and checked in the latest agent and patches for the ENS Platform and Threat Prevention to Evaluation. I don't recall installing anything here though. I'm pretty much learning this as I go, I can deploy software but am learning the ropes.

Additionally, as an explanation on the differences, a package goes to the master repository and is the deployable point product to a client, whether it is a full install, patch, or hotfix.  An extension is checked in under extension and it provides the policies, tasks, and other backend supportability of the product, including adding the specific product queries and query available fields and supported platform information.

Excellent, thank you. This is the info I needed. We don't use the firewall or web control, but from your explanation it doesn't seem like it would hurt to check in those extensions. Thanks for your help! These support forums have been helpful.

Glad to assist!  Yea, if you aren't using those, you don't need to check them in.
