Ports for Agent Handlers..................

Hi All

I'm involved in a brand new roll-out of McAfee for a Client but have not Used Agent Handlers before, prefering

DR's.

The Installation guide for 4.6.x lists on  page 16 that most of the ePO port values can be changed

during config, which is usual

Can anyone confirm that changing the following

DOES NOT later affect the Agent Handler Communications and that

the new port value will be used?

Console-to-application server communication port    8443

and

Client-to-server authenticated communication port  8444

Re: Ports for Agent Handlers..................

I ask the above because the following statement from the guide makes things unclear

"Using the default port enables Agent Handler-to-server communication

to be performed using only port 8444. You can optionally specify port

8443, the Console-to-application server communication port, but doing so requires

that port 8444 continues to be available for Agent Handler communication."

Here's hoping someone knows thro having done it

Re: Ports for Agent Handlers..................

Why do you need to change it? Why not leave it alone?

Re: Ports for Agent Handlers..................

Not that its relevant to the question posed,  but its the Clients Mandate.

so it gets done that way,  unless there is a justifiable case for not doing so.

Hence the question.

Re: Ports for Agent Handlers..................

I can confirm that the change sticks.  In a prior life, I set up an ePO 4.5 infrstructure for a gov entity and all of those ports were changed and it worked just fine.
