Policy, Task and Exclusion Migration

Jump to solution

We are currently in the process of building a new ePO server in order to upgrade from 4.0 to 4.5 and was wondering if anyone knows of a way to migrate Policies, Tasks and Exclusions from one ePO server to another?

I know we could simply do an upgrade on the existing server, but as it is currently running on Windows 2003 and we are currently updating all our server OS's to 2008... a decision was made to build the new ePO server entirely from scratch.

It's not a huge problem if this isnt possible... ill just note all the policies and tasks down and recreate them manually.

Thanks in advance!

There's no quick and easy method for this, I'm afraid    Since you're prepared to do it manually anyway I would strongly recommend that approach as the last thing you want to happen is for all your machines to get the wrong policy... doing it this way is a bit of a pain but gives you complete control.

Yeah i thought that would be the case!

No problem, i was prepared to do it manually anyway as like you said it gives more control than depending on a migration tool!
