Does anyone know or know where to find the NaInet library error codes. I am getting:
"imsite The naInet library returned an error. [Parent error: NaInet library returned code == -88]"
on one of my machines when it runs a deployment task that I have created.
These should be listed in the McAfee Knowledge Base as needed.
Still, -88 is a generic 'It failed' and that's about it. On its own it probably won't help you.
You'll probably need to enabled debug-level logging on the agent to get more detail.
The errors show that the VSE installer is launched correctly, but fails to complete:

This would tend to indicate a local VirusScan installation problem rather than anything to do with ePO or the McAfee Agent.
The agent is just returning the best error it can, as it does not know why the VirusScan installation failed.
VSE has it's own installation logs, which would be worth a look at, but that's not really my area of expertise i'm afraid.
I guess you should see if VSE can be installed successfully or not at the local desktop too.
please enter an install parameter into the deployment task of VirusScan 8.7 so it logs MSIEXEC installation: /leimo "C:\VSEinstall.log"
although the error in your logfile comes soon after verification of actual .EXEs, it still is worth having a MSI logfile.
Also please review KB 58966 and enable agent debug (beside loglevel 8) level, while increasing the logfile max size (to a really big value: debug logging produces a lot of output).
Once then starting the deployment task again I advise of frequently opening the mcscript.log file so you are likely to catch the section where the error occurs (unless you have set a big logfile size).
Note that debug level becomes effective after some time when you created the necessary regkeys (10-30 secs I suppose).
Hey guys thanks for looking at this for me I have made the log entry in the deployment task command line section but there is still no log created. I get the following in the

a less elegant way of finding the error could be to manually start the installation from under the MA respective folder *, with the GUI. Sometimes a non-descriptive error code is retrieved from the installation, which does not really explain anything. I used to have a similar error once and was only able to resolve it by manually starting the install, which then produced an error that something is wrong with the installation package.

I do not think the message you quoted has anything to do with the install failure.
