If you are running epo 5.10, be sure to apply update 3. Otherwise check kb83384 and kb84114 to make sure the internal dbcleanup task is running properly.

This happened with our case too, and the trick that worked was just restarting the serives. Hope this helps.
Restarting services can be a temporary workaround, but if the dbcleanup isn't running properly, then issue will return.
