Jump to solution

Hi all,

i know its not possible to create an automatic response for server tasks but is there any workaround?

In fact i want to be informed (send mail or run executable) if the Repository is not up date (especially DAT) and if clients dat is not within 1 version of repositroy.

muetze87,

Create your server FTP Pull task.  Create a Logging query with the following characteristics:

Create a server task to run 10 minutes or whatever time period you wish after the FTP pull, run this query, write the results to a file, then email the file to you.

Create another task to delete the file in whatever format you wish to use.

workaround with queries and powershell:

1. create querie:

Table

select columns

filter:

name - equals - "SERVERTASKNAME"

Status - equals - failed

Start date - is wthin the last - XXX (for example 1 Days)

2. create server task

name - xxx

action: run query - select the created query

sub-action: export to file - path - overwrite - chart data only - CSV

3. Write Powershell script that looks for "failed" in this CSV and pipe to what you want.

Shedule server task and powershell script

Is there any easy way to do this? for me it works now, but a feature in mcafee software would be nice ...

Muetze87,

Under Automatic Responses, there exists one for when a master repository pull fails.  Duplicate and edit to suit your needs.  You can even have retry the pull if you wish.

Hi DocB,

thx for your reply.

This automatic response triggers if the event 16003 appear.

If i make a ftp update and it fails, there is no event 16003 (checked with querie -> events).

So i dont know when exactly this event will be write to the log.
