Migrating clients to new ePO server

Jump to solution

I have installed ePO on a mnew Win 2008 server, and I'm looking advice and best practises on the best way to migrate all client servers and workstations to point to the new ePO server. The migration needs to be on a strictly phased basis; each phase containing a manually selected group of machines.

Any help much appreciated.

Assuming both ePO servers are 4.5 or above then you can use the Move Clients function, which is strictly under your control - see the product guide for details.

Would that be under the heading "Transferring systems between ePO Servers" on page 129 of the EPO 4.5 Product Guide?

It looks like I need to:

- register the new ePO server with the old one

- import the agent-server secure communication key from the new server to the old one.

- wait up to 2 hours

Thanks for replying so quickly.
