Mcafee Agent and sound glitches

I have to use my recent office laptop (Dell 5590, I7, 16G ram) to make sound works.

I use an external professional sound interface and I have sound glitches each time the enforce policy of McAfee Agent runs. It's the same with all the ASIO interfaces I tried, even if I put de buffer size to the max.

What is the problem with Agent ?

Hips is the problem child.  That policy has 12,250 lines in it vs less than 400 for all the other products.  The bulk of it is firewall rules being processed.  You will need to let your McAfee admin know it is causing issues.

Does the cpu run high at that time?  It is not necessarily the agent, but the policies it is enforcing.  Some point products can have huge policy sets, which makes enforcement a little more resource intensive.  What products are installed on your system?  What agent version are you running?  

Please open a ticket with McAfee so we can review your policy db file to see which product may be causing it.

You can also run this script in sql on the epo database to find out which policies are excessively large.  Please note, depending on your version of epo, the table epopolicysettingvalues may actually be named epopoilcysettingvaluesmt, so you would need to modify the script accordingly.  The same goes with epopolicyobjecttosettings table name.

Thanks for your answers.

CPU is no more than 30%.

Agent V5.5.1.388

My sound programs are Samplitude, Foobar etc.

I use the ASIO driver of a Tascam interface.

The glitches are every 1/4h when the agent enforcement runs.

I don't know how to access to the policy database

You might want to get with your McAfee administrator at your company.  If you know your grant number, you can go to support.mcafee.com and open a ticket there.  You may have to register on the service portal.  If you don't know your grant number, then get with your adminstrator.

I can't contact rapidly my Mcafee administrator...

But I looked at the macompatsvc log.

That is actually 14 seconds, and is a long time.  I will send you my contact info in private message - please send me the logs that are in the c:\programdata\mcafee\agent\logs directory.
