McAfee Data Exchange Layer client on Win 10 computers

Hi

I'm currently upgrading my DXL clients running on my Win 10 computers from 4.0.0.450 to 4.1.2.115

What I've noticed during the upgrade, some computers have these versions of DXL installed instead

4.1.1

4.1.1.113

4.1.1.123

Is it possible to do an upgrade from 4.0.0.450 to 4.1.2.115 in one jump?

If i then upgrade 4.1.1, 4.1.1.113, and 4.1.1.123 to 4.1.2.115, i get a restart prompt from DXL. Is this expected?

Re: McAfee Data Exchange Layer client on Win 10 computers

Per the release notes for dlx 4.1.2, the older version must be anything between 2.1.0 and 4.0 before upgrading to 4.1.x, so yes, you can directly upgrade the 4.0 clients.  If it is requiring a reboot, then yes, it is expected.  That might depend on version you are upgrading from, os reboot requirements, or it may just need it to remove previous files.  You can disable that prompt in the agent policy so a reboot can be done later if needed.
