McAfee Agent: Product Deployment

Jump to solution

Hello, I was wondering if anyone encountered this issue where you have a Client Task that runs to update deployed product but as soon as you update those product package, you have to go back to everyone of those automatic task and update those "Product and components".

Before i updated the packages, those were filled with the proper product. But now, my task stopped working properly because no package is specified.

Thanks!

It is normal behavior because the older version is typically replaced by the newer version, so you have effectively removed it from the task also because it was based on the version selection when you created the task.

@Yannick_Hache, Did you check in a new product version from software manager? If Yes, then it is default behaviour when you check-in a new version into the epo branch.  You just need to pick the product name and branch that you would like the deployment task .

Yes i did pick a new product, i was wondering if there was a way to automate the selection to the most recent one by default, instead of removing my current choice and leaving my product deployment unusable.

If there is no such way, a new function to be added would be nice and in the meantime i will put a reminder to always go check my tasks to make sure they deploy the latest product.

That would be a nice functionality - you can follow kb60021 to submit an idea for that.  The alternative to that is to check in newer versions into a different branch so you don't accidentally deploy it to your whole environment before you have had a chance to test it.

Just to be clear, it is normal behavior to get my selection removed once i've downloaded a new product ? Or it's because the server thinks both are the "current" branch and cannot make a specific choice?

You guys have been quite helpful by the way. Thank you
