McAfee Agent Patch deployment via ePO 5.1

Jump to solution

I'm trying to get McAfee Agent 4.8 Patch 4 deployed as a seperate Client Task, but I can't find it in my list of options. I've got just about everything else.

What am I missing?

Thanks

Agent packages are almost always delivered as a full installer - as far as I know we've never released just a patch for an agent - so to upgrade the agent you would use a product deployment task rather than an update task.

Hi Ric

Afaik the agent can be updated by a product deployment task.

Just check in the latest version to the current branch and create a deployment task for the agent.

I didnt test it with the product deployment task in ePO 5.1 but it worked with a client task in ePO 4.6 which is pretty the same

Hi...

I think you have it   The list of products shows VSE 8.8, which means that you have at least one VSE 8.8 patch package checked in. The actual patch versions are not displayed in the page you're looking at.

If you send an update task to the machines with the VSE 8.8 option selected, that should apply the patch.

So how do you just apply just a Agent patch without reinstalling the whole Agent?
