Log File not available for an update task

Hi all ePo fans !

I've a problem with an ePO 4.0 Patch 2 server with some VS 8.5 Patch 5 clients.
Everything is fine but...

I've an upgrade DAT file task defined on the ePO server.
This task appear in the VS console on the clients.

If I make a right click on this task, I don't have the option to display the log file.
However I've the option on the standard update task... (not managed)

How to enable the logfile for the DAT/Engine update ?

Thank you very much for your support.
Have a nice day !

RE: Log File not available for an update task

There is no individual option for this (logging on managed update tasks).
you would need to check the agent log on the machine

RE: Log File not available for an update task

Hello Tonybb !

On My VS Console I have another managed task : a task to analyse the disks weekly which is managed by the ePO server

For this task, the log option is available...

For my managed update task, the last result and last execution does not display any information...

Thank you for your help.

RE: Log File not available for an update task

there is logging on scan tasks
there is NO logging on update tasks (apart from in the main agent logs)

this is the same in 3.6.1 and 4.0

look in your update tasks on the EPO server, you will notice there is no logging function diaogues anywhere

RE: Log File not available for an update task

From my experience there is no "option" for the logs... however, if the task hasn't run, there is no log...

This is often the case for manual tasks, they aren't run, hence have no log...
Automatic tasks (not managed) run automatically (surprise) hence generate logs.

You may want to run the (manual, not automatic) task, and see if you get a log.
