How to scan IP ranges in ePO and detect systems outside of Active Directory ?

Jump to solution

Dear Sirs,

Using ePO 4.6, we would like to manage systems that are not in Active Directory.

How can we add them into the "system tree" without having to enter every single IP by hand ?

We could add them all but we are only interessed into systems that actually exists.

Is it possible to scan specific IP ranges and add systems that are detected in them ?

The ideal solution would be to have those ranges scanned regularly so new systems are detected when they are created.

Thanks a lot for your precious help

Best Regards

For those wo were also asking themselves the same question, this is solved using the Rogue Systems Sensors feature of ePO. This wasn't totally obvious at start but works fine following the steps in the product guide:

- Define a rogue sensor policy

- deploy it to one system in each subnet you want to discover

- See the findings in detected systems section
