How to remove unused policies from Polict Catalog in ePO 5.1

Jump to solution

We have recently upgraded our non-production ePO server from 4.6.7 to 5.1. I noticed in the Policy Catalog, that we have some products listed that we won't use. Below are the ones that show up.

My question is about how to remove them from the policy catalog?

ePO Agent for Webshield 3.0.0

ePO Agent for Webshield Appliance 2.0.0

Norton AntiVirus 7.5.0.

Neither of theses products are in the master repository or have extensions.

I thought those would be left over from previous versions

Removing them is pretty simple - there should not be any other dependencies in the DB so we can simply use the following individual queries:

delete from eposoftware where productcode = 'ePOAgent2000LYNX'

delete from eposoftware where productcode = 'EPOAGENT3000WSHD'

delete from eposoftware where productcode = 'NORTONAV7500'

That  should take care of it. As always please ensure you have a recent full DB backup before applying this.

Wow, those are pretty old

You'll need to remove these directly from the database - can you run the following query and attach the results here as a text file?

select * from eposoftware

Joe,

I have attached the results of the SQL query that you gave me. These products are old and left over from the years of ePO upgrading that this server has gone thru. We currently don't have a lot of products in our ePO server which will soon change after we upgrade the production server to 5.10.

Joe,

Thanks. These queries did the trick for me.

Excellent

I should point out that this solution was intended for twenden's environment only - other readers should *not* apply this without checking with McAfee Support first.
