How to create a 'light' antivirus?

Dear all,

I've just entered a company using ePo which I don't really know.

What I need to do is to create a profile for slow and old computers which are - I'm sure of that - infected.

But as they are industrial computers I can't havethe full version of McAfee working as it would slow down the computer.

Please keep in mind I'm new to ePo...

Thanks in advance.

Phil

Configurtion:

ePo 4.5

Most of them are on Win XP or 2K but with light processors and 512MB RAM.

Not HD limitation really.

Re: How to create a 'light' antivirus?

Hello....

Have you refered Installation Guide???......You can find all the systems Requirements.

You can install VirusScan 8.8 on 512MB RAM, But it might slow down your systems as the systems may having many programs Installed other that VirusScan, So those program also using some of the Memory.

Its better that you refer Installation guide & fulfill the system requirements recommended by McAfee.

Re: How to create a 'light' antivirus?

That just what I don't have time to do actually.

I'm new in this company, pretty disappointed but ePo presentation.

I can't find my way in the product easily and of course the request is urgent.

Anyway I don't believe in system requirements on guides.

I can't take the risk that a industrial machine doesn't work anymore...

Follow the best practices as detailed by McAfee here:

Microsoft has recommendations as well but you will need to balance against the amount of risk:

Additionally you can use MID and may disable some components of VSE if not required.

For details about MID, please refer to #: https://kc.mcafee.com/resources/sites/MCAFEE/content/live/PRODUCT_DOCUMENTATION/23000/PD23073/en_US/...
