How change user administrator of ePolicy Orchestrator 5.x

Jump to solution

Hello

We had installed McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) 5.x using the domain administrator user windows

For security reasons we want to use another domain user

We have created a user with the same permissions as the user administrator and we are using the URL https://<servername>:8443/core/config. to try to change the user

When we test the connection we get the following message

Can not open database "ePO4_eposerver" requested by the login. The login failed

What are the steps to fix it? Is it possible to change the user?

Thanks

I know you created a new user with the same permissions as the previous user, but did you grant that new user access within SQL to the ePO DB? I'm assuming that is where your authentication is failing.

Hi

Are you using the local SQLExpress Database or are you using a Remote SQL Database server?

If you are using a Remote Server, the newer account may not have SA permissions on the Remote Database.

thank you very much

We have effectively created a new user in the data base sqlexpress and then we changed the settings using the website mentioned in the Technical Note
