Help ePo upgrade 5.3.2 to 5.9.1

I am new to this forum and Mcafee product as well, please excuse me if this question were asked somewhere else.

Currently we have:

  1. ePo 5.3.2 installed on Windows 2012 R2
  2. SQL 2008 SP3 on Windows 2008

What we want to do:

upgrade from epo 5.3.2 to epo 5.9, SQL 2016, Server 2016

  1. Our Database team will back up our SQL 2008 DB
  2. Our VM team will take snapshot of our ePo 5.3.2 Instaled Server 2012
  3. Built new 2016 Server for the new ePo 5.9.1
  4. Built new 2016 Server for the SQL 2016

The person who suppose to handle this project is no longer with the company and I am asked to perform this project.

Please advice best approach/steps and share any relevant KB/Video.

Thanks so much.

Re: Help ePo upgrade 5.3.2 to 5.9.1

Hi ITPro,

There is a lot of information around to help.

Have a look here:

https://www.mcafee.com/enterprise/en-us/products/epolicy-orchestrator.html?tab=support

To this have a  search of the main knowledge base for more information:

KB75766, KB76739 as examples to start you off!

An interesting find when I searched for some video was on 'YouTube', its a 30 min watch but it is helpful.

ePO upgrade 5.3.2 to 5.9

Re: Help ePo upgrade 5.3.2 to 5.9.1

Thank you for the quick reply. I saw the link and the video (yesterday) and indeed its very helpful.

I was looking something that explains SITE TO SITE upgrade or migration and how to approach it.

Remember, we are setting up Dedicated SQL Server 2016 with Windows 2016 and new 5.9 ePo will have its own Server 2016 as well.

Thanks

Thank you, this is very helpful. I appreciate your help.

Would have been nice to see an original McAfee video on this or architectural diagram 🙂
