HTTP 403 error when trying to log into EPO

Jump to solution
"The website declined to show this webpage" Most likely causes: This website requires you to log in. Anyone seen this? Since we upgraded to 5.9, I can't log into the web app. I've tried different browsers; Chrome, IE, Firefox to no avail. My colleague can access the site with no issues. I can access from another computer so I am sure it is a setting. Any ideas which setting it could be? Thanks, CJ

You might want to open a ticket with McAfee then so we can look at logs and see what is going on.

Ryan from McAfee helped me out with this Friday.  The issue was the shortcut link I was using pointed me to a J_Security_check which to my understanding houses old credentials?  I am not 100% sure but after correcting the link (removing the J_Security_Check at the end), I was able to log in.

Have you added it to trusted sites and imported the certificate into trusted root on your browser?

It is in the trusted sites.  Not sure about the cert.  Can you tell me how to check that?  Or how to get it?

Are you doing this from the epo server or your own laptop or desktop or another server?  when the browser is at that page, does it show any certificate warning?

Initially it does have a page appear stating it is not a trusted site and has three options.  One option is to continue to the site (not recommended).

when you choose the not recommended option, what happens?  Do you ever get a chance to view certificate?

It doesn't have an option to view the cert.  After I click the not recommended to continue, it takes me to the login screen.  I used false creds and it said those were not valid.  I then used my correct creds and that's when I get the error I posted initially.

Also, when you try to log in, what url are you using?  IP address, netbios name of server, or fqdn?  The certificate is issued to the netbios name of the server by default.
