Epo ports

Jump to solution

Hello, I have a epo 4.5 server installed and configured to use default ports but recently, I installed WSUS on the same machine using the port 8530 because the port 80 is used by epo to communicate with the agents.

The problem I have now is that old windows update clients need the port 80 to search for selfupdates and my question is:

If i have SSL communication selected, ¿is needed the port 80 to communicate between server and agents or the communication is made using port 8443?

I tried all the options that agent's console gives to me and seems that the communication is made using port 8443 in all cases.

I'm using agent version 4.5

Thx.

Hi you, you can read this article for more info about ports used in ePO server https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB66797

Reading your answer I realized that I have a mistake in my first post. The used port number by agents version 4.5 is 443, not 8443.

What I can understand from https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB66797 is that if all my agents are 4.5 I don't need port 80 because the communication between server and agents is made using port 443.

¿It's right my assumption?

Thx in advance.
