Tried to pull last DAT and SuperDAT files manually on EPO, but I got the same message like rsnooks.
Rom, I provisionally updated clients changing the AutoUpdate Repository in VirusScan. I putted McAfeeHttp instead EPOserver and at least my clients are having the last DATs.
Ran into the same problem with EPO 4 patch 5 running on W2K3 with SQL express 2005
This is how I fixed my problem:
1-Went to link https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB51620 2-In the TCP/IP fonfig of SQL 2005, the port changed (???) to 1708. Changed it back to 1433 (That was the port that I had set in ePo) 3-in file C:\Program files\McAfee\ePolicy Orchestrator\Server\conf\orion\db.properties, port was also set to another value. Changed it to 1433. 4-Reboot server and bingo! Everything works!

your SQL server seems to be inaccessible, are you sure thats not the console log?, you also havnt given any version info or info on your setup:
"The SQL Server does not exist or access denied"
check you have all services satrted and restart them ( reboot epo would be good) check connections (have you altered the ports) check passwords check your not at a size limit if using SQL express or MSDE
- I've already reboot the server (I can do it at any moment of the day), but it is the same, - which ports should I check and where do I see them ? - We are in MSDE where can we manage or see the limit ? I'm not a specialist of SQL...
We are in ePO 4.0 patch 5, it is a version migrated from ePO 3.6.1 done in january 2009,
This probleme has occurred in march, may and august, each time Ididn't find a solution so I have restored a backup with Symantec Livestate Recovery at a date that it was OK, and then it worked for few months I'm wondering if there is not a problem of license behind this ?? Can I re install over it ?
The settings in core/config are the important ones - the server.ini is less important in ePO 4. It sounds to me like the password for the account used to access SQL has changed... if you enter the credentials in the core/config page and click the "test connection" button, does it succeed?
