EPO check-in eval

Jump to solution
Trying to check-in VSE patch 12 into evaluation. In EPO my line of data reads: Available: 8.8.0.12 checked: 8.8.0.11 evaluation. When I click Check in (branch) the next selections are all greyed out even after scrolling down the license agreement. Should I be able to select the patch into evaluation?

No, that is not what I meant.  Go to the master repository for patch 11, under actions, move to different branch and move it to previous.  When you do that, does it then give you the option to check into a different branch?  It may give you the same thing, so if it does, then you will have to remove p11 from the repository as a workaround until you can upgrade your server.

The check in branch option lets you choose a branch different than what is currently installed.  If you want to update the version in same branch, choose the update option instead of check in branch.

I do not have an update option. In EPO 5.9: menu, software, software manager. left pane choose endpoint security then virusscan enterprise 8.8. Then on patch 12 selection i only see check in (branch), remove, or download. thanks

I have no update option if my current version in repository is the same as what I am trying to check in.  I checked in patch 11 to mine and this is what I see....

I even moved mine to evaluation and still show an update.  Are you on 5.9.0 or 5.9.1?  I would suggest as a workaround to move your patch 11 to previous and then check in p12 to eval.

There are a lot of updates to the software manager in 5.9.1 as well as a lot of other fixes.  You might want to consider upgrading.  My server is 5.9.1 and I don't see the issue you do.

If you do plan on upgrading anytime, be sure to go through kb71825 and run the pre installation auditor tool.

In my company upgrading is a big step so why not 5.10? has there been any database problems in the migration?

Yes, 5.10 would be a good next step, just be sure to apply update 2 right after you upgrade.

There are some database changes that might require more drive space on sql.  5.10 creates a second database strictly for the epo events.  That is split into 12 1g files, so your maintenance would have to include backing that database up also and reindexing.  As long as you go through kb71825 and the pre installation auditor tool and everything passes, you should be ok.  Just be sure to have good backups and you are sure of the snapshot recovery password.  If you aren't, then reset it in server settings, disaster recovery, then run another snapshot recovery task to ensure a good snapshot in the databse.  Then, backup database again.
