EPO - Server task - In Progress

Jump to solution

HI there,

How do I get notified for EPO Server task that is stuck on "In Progress" over a day? Essentially I would like to get email notification (via automatic response) or SNMP trap?

Regards

Performance Optimizer has an assessment that checks on the durations of the server tasks. It can then send out an email using the Automatic Responses. See the screenshots below. For more info about the latest release of Performance Optimizer see here:

1. Configure the Performance Optimizer assessment parameters.

2. Configure an Automatic Response to look for the specific assessment result.

3. Enter the assessment name as part of the filter.

4. Specify that the Automatic Response should send an email notification when the assessment finds that an action is required.

5. Review the assessment summary dashboard.

6. Drill down on the row for the server tasks duration to see which tasks have exceeded the run time threshold specified in step 1 above.

Currently there is no way to generate an automatic response based on the status "In Progress".  Since we just had a Day Light Savings switch, you might be experiencing the SQL issue that can be corrected with a couple quick queries; [ KB83384 ].

The only other valid reason for a task to become stuck is if the system being deployed to no longer exists on the network. The ePO server can get stuck in a loop trying to communicate with a machine we told it existed but will never respond.  Hopefully , that helps.  Additionally, you can request this functionality by submitting a PER.
