EPO 4.5 patch1 migrate from 2003 x86 to 2008 r2

Hello

I like to migrate from 2003 x86 server to 2008 R2 but i read https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB66616 and says: "You must reinstall ePO to the exact same directory path as the previous installation or initialization of extensions will fail when the restore is complete" but when start install change path from "c:\program files x86\mcafee" to "c:\program files\mcafee" and start install, epo installed to  "c:\program files x86\mcafee" and nothing in "c:\program files\mcafee" ....

so... how can i move 2003 x86 server to 2008 R2 ?

Since ePO is a 32 bit app, it would be installed under the Program Files (x86) location despite specifying not to..The problem now is - if you are to restore your previous ePO installation folders, the extension locations in (server\conf\catalina\*.xml) would be pointing to the original folder (Program Files\McAfee ...) .

The workaround you can try is to use a text editor such as PsPad and replace the (Program Files\McAfee\...) string in each of the .xml file to Program Files (x86)\McAfee ... after restoring your old ePO installation folders on top of the fresh install. This should enable the extensions to initialize properly.

The other place you would need to repeat this exercise would be the Apache configuration file (ePolicy Orchestrator\Apache2\conf\httpd.conf) - if it refers to the Program Files\McAfee folder - replace it with Program Files (x86)\McAfee\...
