try putting in a fully qualified domain name in your hosts file.

eg.   10.128.90.133 HONP3R2SAPA01.yourdomain.com

Hi hramos,

I've moved your thread to the ePO product area. Hopefully another community member can help you soon.

I think you've answered your own question

The repository cannot be resolved from the ePO server, so it can't find it. If you put an entry in the ePO server's hosts file for the superagent machine, that should fix it.

Joe

Hi Joe,

Thanks for your reply. The problem is I had already added the server to the hosts file and it still doesn't work.

# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
#      102.54.94.97    rhino.acme.com          # source server
#      38.25.63.10    x.acme.com              # x client host

10.128.90.133 HONP3R2SAPA01

The wierd thing is I am able to do a ping to the server and it works correctly. I don't know what else I should try.

Pinging HONP3R2SAPA01 [10.128.90.133] with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 10.128.90.133: bytes=32 time=13ms TTL=126

Thanks bornslippy, That did the trick. Added the whole domain name in the host file. Replication is in progress atm.

Thank you all.

Hey Guys,

I'm facing exactly the same issue. I'm already done with the host file stuff. I don't understand whats wrong. I have this Distributed Repository at a remote site, just like many other repositories. Replications to all other repositories are successfull, its just this machine thats keeps throwing this weird error.

Can anyone suggest something more on this issue please?

Regards,

Jayesh.

I am also coming across the same issue with the error:  ERROR Failed to connect, error 11001 ( No such host is known. )

I put the FQDN hostname in there, no dice.  Also tried it with the name it shows in the the task log by adding ePOSA_  to the front of the host name in the host file of the ePO, but still nothing.  What ports do I need to verify are open both ways?  The agent can communicate with the server fine, but for whatever reason the replication task fails.  I am running ePO 4.5.

The FQDN I had put into the host file was incorrect.  Once I corrected the entry and initiated a replication task it worked fine.
