ENS extension failed to upgrade

Jump to solution

-Tried to upgrade ENS extension

-It failed with error:

D:\McAfee\Server\extensions\installed\ENDP_GS_1000\10.6.1.1267\install.xml:696:

java.sql.SQLException: Invalid object name 'EPOProdPropsView_WEBCONTROL'.

Because it was an extension upgrade, it left traces behind

EPOProdPropsView_WEBCONTROL seems to be a missing SQL view that is looking for

when installing ENS extension.

Can i add this view manually or is there any solution?

Thanks

The solution was:

Export the missing SQL view EPOProdPropsView_WEBCONTROL from a healthy ePO db, using SQL management Studio.

Import it into the affected ePO DB

Restart SQL and ePO services

Extensions installed fine after that.

Hi @JoseRR,

Thank you for you post! I am no expert in SQL and I would not recommend changing anything from the DB without Support's intervention, however, Just to be sure, Can you confirm the ENS Web Control Extension is already installed and running on the ePO?

If yes, then I would recommend contacting Support for this via a Service Request.

Thank you for your answer.

There are not ENS extensions installed at the moment. When trying to check in, get the error about the WebControl SQL view.

The procedure to remove extensions manually has been applied and there are not traces of ENS Extensions on any of the 3 locations (below)

Catalina/localhost

Extensions folder

DB Table OrionExtensions

Service request has been opened already.

Thank you

How exactly did you remove them manually?  If you just removed them from the file system and the orion extensions table, that is not the right way to manually remove an extension.  So, for each extension you removed, you need to run the uninstall scripts for each extension.  Those are located in the extension files - there should be a folder called sql and in there, one or more uninstall scripts.  I would suggest opening a ticket with the ens team to ensure this is done properly.

If you have a backup of the database prior to any attempt to upgrade the extension, you can also restore the database, then try upgrading again.  Also, hopefully you had policy and task retention enabled in server settings, and if not, exported all your ens policies and tasks, as well as system tree assignments.
