My organization have computers with Windows Vista SP2, Windows 7 SP1 and servers with Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2008 SP2, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012 R2. Also we have server ePO 5.9. On Windows Server 2003 R2 installed McAfee Agent 18.104.22.1684 and VirusScan Enterprise 22.214.171.1245. On Windows Vista SP2, Windows 7 SP1, Windows Server 2008 SP2, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012 R2 installed McAfee Agent 126.96.36.1998 and VirusScan Enterprise 188.8.131.524.
There is a task for all stations to deploy DLP Endpoint. But the problem is that DLP Endpoint 10 is incompatible with Windows Vista and Windows Server 2003 R2. How to be in this case, install DLP Endpoint 9.3 Patch 6 (because DLP Endpoint 9.3 Patch 6 supported ePO 5.3.1)? Will this version of DLP Endpoint be compatible with Windows Server 2003 R2? And is it possible to downgrade the server ePO from version 5.9.0 to 5.3.1?
You are partly right, but at the moment we do not have the opportunity to translate stations with the operating system Windows Vista and Windows Server 2003 to newer versions, since these stations have been stable working in the APCS network for over 7 years and have specific software. If it were stations in the office network, then of course there were no problems with translating to new versions (such as Windows 10 and so on).
That's why I personally love red hat linux. their version 6 was released back in 2010 and minor version upgrade to latest 6.9. It's easier compared to upgrading windows 2008 - 2012 - 2016 with all the service packs in between.
we also do a complete tech refresh every 5 years.. os wise pretty much a homogeneous os environment so thankfully does not encounter your issue. hope it works out.
