Deploy to server behind Firewall

Im new to EPO but seem to have most things working.

I have a problem trying to deploy to a server that is behind firewall in DMZ.

Using deploy task it wants a Domain name, but this server is in a workgroup and not on the Domain.

How do I resolve this.

I moved this discussion out of the 'Home' products forum, into the Business section for ePO.  You'll have better luck resolving here.

Re: Deploy to server behind Firewall

Try localmachine in the domain name.

i.e. localmachine\username as opposed to domain\username

(and assumming the user has admin rights to install.)

Also make sure that you can access it from the ePO server - i.e. that the firewall isn't blocking the agent from getting deployed to it.

You could always install it manually on the server.

Re: Deploy to server behind Firewall

Thanks for your reply.

I had tried using the localmachine name but that failed.

User has full admin rights.

I will need to check re the firewall issue as this is supposed to have been configured to allow such access. (managed remotely)

Will  advise late as to any progress.

Re: Deploy to server behind Firewall

or could also try a  .\   in the domain name

Re: Deploy to server behind Firewall

Many thanks for your help, - seems it was a firewall issue.

Using Localmachine name etc now works a treat.

Very impressive everyone - thanKs for taking the time to help.

Re: Deploy to server behind Firewall

Go through the 'New System' process but instead of choosing '' select ''. Save the .exe and transfer in to the computer in the DMZ (via network, usbstick, CDRW).

Run the .exe to install the agent. The .exe package will have all the client/agent keys so all you need to do is a 'collect and send props' via the agent GUI and the computer should appear in 'Lost&Found' in your system tree in ePO.

The only thing next would be to open the nessesary ports on your Firewalled DMZ to allow the agent to communicate to the server

You can then manually install (or deploy via ePO) VSE and the agent will collect/report/DAT update/Policy Update/etc as normal (once your ports are open)

Re: Deploy to server behind Firewall

Thanks for your reply, I now know how to do a manual install .

Issue was down to firewall after all.
