Deploy VSE through Tag Criteria in EPO task

Dear Team,

In my Environment we have 10000 machines.currently we are using VSE 8.8 patch 4 versions.most of the machines

updated with VSE 8.8 patch 4 version. But still some of the machines around 900+ machines in VSE 8.8 base version. ""

We unable to deploy directly with patch 4 version..As per the installation guide first i have move all the machines to VSE 8.8 Patch 2

and then i can deploy VSE 8.8 patch 4.

I have to deploy only those 900+ machines alone to VSE 8.8 patch 4

one more thing,we have those machines in different container.we can't able to group in single container.because we are using EEPC,DLP etc.

Without grouping how to deploy to deploy VSE 8.8 patch 2 version. and then i am having VSE 8.8 patch 4 in current branch.once VSE 8.8 patch 2 installation completed, all machines will start to deploy patch 4 version.

How to deploy those machines with tag criteria to deploy VSE 8.8 patch 2 without moving to any group?

Re: Deploy VSE through Tag Criteria in EPO task

Hi kumar.raja67

You will be able to achieve this using tags and branches.

You will need to check Patch 2 into the previous branch of the Mater Repository and Patch 4 into your current branch.

Create a McAfee Agent deployment client task for each patch.

Create a Tag for each Patch install for example "Deploy VSE 8.8 patch 2" and "Deploy VSE patch 4"

In the client task assignment on the firsts teen at the bottom, use the tag filer to apply the client task, and on the second step Run Immediatly.

Then tag your systems with the corresponding task and run an Agent Wake Up.

It might also be worth on the Patch 2 install task to use the 'Does not have tag' and see this to the "Deploy VSE patch 4" to prevent the Patch 4 client task from running by accident on machines with the Patch 2 tag.
