RE: DATS fail to download onto clients.

Your not alone on this one.

I too just checked a few machine logs today and saw this...

Must say its 1 of the best errors i have ever seen, "generic script error".... Thanks for that! Care to elaborate which script if any?!

I'm just going to push the SDAT down to cover these for today.

Just checked but don;t have that folder (C:\Temp\TestEngDat32) to delete sad

RE: DATS fail to download onto clients.

Something else I read in another forum post on these forums is to check the amount of available disk space on the computer.

RE: DATS fail to download onto clients.

I second what sthayden is saying. I have on numerous times that DATs won't install when the disk space on C: drive is too low.

RE: DATS fail to download onto clients.

I am glad to be of assistance =)

RE: DATS fail to download onto clients.

Funnily enough i just found this out when doing an SDAT on 1 of the machines.

The reason is because the DAT is downloaded to a temporary location before being copied into the relevant folder where the DAT's are held and than deleted from the temporary location.

1kb free on this machine, surprised it even managed to log on this morning.

Re: RE: DATS fail to download onto clients.

try c:\winnt\temp\testeng32 and testeng64.  move them out of this temp directory  If c:\winnt is not there then c:\windows\temp\
