Re: Custom properties, custom 1-8

Hi, there are couple of ways you can "set" these values. You can create your custom script file, package it using EEDK and create a deployment task in ePO.

You can modfiy registry keys and create your custom properties. "CustomProps1" and set to your value.

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Network Associates\ePolicy Orchestrator\Agent\CustomProps\

 You can run:

msaconfig -CustomProps1 "Property 1″

Or:

FrmInst.exe /CustomProps1="Property 1″

Re: Custom properties, custom 1-8

The product guide for the agent has instructions for ways to update the custom props fields.  With the 5.x agent.  However there are some feature dependencies for that extended functionality.  Minimum epo version needs to be 5.9.0, ma required extension and agent version is 5.0.5.  If you meet those minimum requirements, the agent policies now have a separate policy for custom properties.  You enable or disable modifying those and then set up a client task to update the props on a client.

Re: Custom properties, custom 1-8

To clarify by extended functionality, that is the use of the policies and tasks to do that.  Otherwise it can still be done via command line per the product guide.

Re: Custom properties, custom 1-8

For those trying to do this here is the correct syntax for Agent 5.0.6

usage: maconfig [options][args]
where options are:
-provision provisions agent in managed/un-managed mode
-enforce enforces agent policies/configuration locally
-custom set custom properties
-help displays help

e.g.
maconfig -provision -managed -dir "C:\temp"
maconfig -enforce -resetlang
maconfig -custom -prop1 "value"
maconfig -help
