Client Scheduled Tasks don't showup on desktops in console.

Using Protection Pilot for 200 workstations.

Click on All Computers and then scheduled tasks.

I added a task called "!Monthly scan of Local drives."
Product: VirusScan Enterprise 8.0
Task type: On Demand Scan

Inherit is on, it is enabled.

Set to run 1:30 am once a month on a certain day.
---

Checked multiple workstations and when I click on their virusscan console it does not appear. Then in Protection Pilot, I check each group and check scheduled tasks and it is listed as ENABLED "TRUE"

The only place it shows up in the virusscan console is on the server where Protection Pilot runs. It comes up as (EPO)!Monthly scan of Local drives

---

Any suggestions or am I doing something wrong.

Thanks.

Update: I noticed on the 12 servers I have this running, they all get the task and it shows up on their desktop console. Still nothing on the workstations console. sad

aah, you have dropped a valuable clue there,

for the vse 8.0i nap file, there is a drop down box, that toggles between servers and workstations,

they are effectively totally separate policies, that are managed separately,

choose workstation, and make the same changes, this should make them show up,

HTH

RE: Client Scheduled Tasks don't showup on desktops in console.

Good thought but I don't think so. For the task VirusScan on Demand Scan, there is a task tab. In that tab, I have selected, run on both Workstations and Servers.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

RE: Client Scheduled Tasks don't showup on desktops in console.

hi,

this is not a task setting, tho it is a policy setting and is independant of the tasks defined,

the option is under user interface policies for vse 8.0i

RE: Client Scheduled Tasks don't showup on desktops in console.

Doh, I think I unserstand now.

Where I was talking before, is how I create the TASK. Where it is visible on the workstation is as follows:

All Computers / Virus Scan Enterprise 8 / Policies / User Interface Policies / Virus Scan Console Options (for workstation)

And make sure this is checked: Display ePO's tasks in the VirusScan console

And... it works. happy Thanks.

Client Schedule Tasks Don't Show Up in Console

I m facing the same issue, checked on the interface option in the policy, all have the option enabled.
I tried modifying the default "VirusScan - On Demand Scan" from the EPO, and did a agent wake up call. I also tried by creating a new scan task. Still doesn't work.
Any other area i should look into?
