Hi there guys,
What does "Automatically allow clients to access newly-added repositories" in Repository Assigned Policies? I am looking for a good explanation for this and nothing found in user/install guide.
I would interpret this as when a new repository is added it's added to the repository list as 'enabled'
If your clients repository selection policy is based on ping time or subnet distance then it would automatically select the new repository if it's close enough.
If it's not selected then the repository is added to the list with a state of disabled.
We have 14 repositories configured with naming different locations. I believe the end users machines will contact the particular repository which is nearest to the users location to get the DAT updates. Is that correct?
If so can I know from McScript log as from which repository my system is downloading the daily DAT updates?
Ping time may not pick the closest physical system, it all depends on which server responds the fastest. Yes, the mcscript log will show which one it is pulling from and why if it tries one and fails.
