Application Exclusion: Angry IP Scanner

Jump to solution

We have used Angry IP Scanner (a network scanning tool) in our environment for years. Lately due to a recent upgrade to VSE 8.8 upgrade our network administrators have complained that McAfee VirusScan 8.8 is detecting the executable as malware and deleting the file. I spoke to a McAfee rep and he said I should add an application exclusion as McAfee is not planning on removing the application from their DAT.

What is the best way to accomplish it?

Resolved the issue by creating an PUP policy which applies to the systems I want the software to run on. The McAfee documentation did through me off for a bit, it talks about excluding the program by it's name - well this name is the name in the OnDemmand detection log.
