Agents/VSE stopped updating after engine 5400 deployment

Hi Folks,

I've an issue I opened w/ Corporate Support  under our support contract regarding this issue.

Looks mostly like the Access Protection> Common Standard Protection policies to prevent modifications to McAfee .... settings etc are working a little too well as our ePO 4.0 can't push new policies out to them now.

The system App event logs fill up with Event ID 257's showing access etc to various McAfee files mostly xml is being denied.

Here is a sample log entry.

***************************** Blocked by access protection rule. Access to object C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\McAfee\Common Framework\Db\Agent_System_Name.xml was blocked by rule Common Standard ProtectionSmiley Tonguerevent modification of McAfee Common Management Agent files and settings.

They (Corporate Support) also seem a little stumped by this as the Guy did a remote connection looked around and told me he had to escalate it. That was two days ago w/ no response from them as of yet.

Anyone else see anything similar too this?

If you are using the VSE 8.7 Patch 2 repost, please review KB67452 - there was an issue that was recently reported for VSE 8.7 Patch 2 repost extension. If you are using the reposted extension version with the EPOCMAPROCESSES variable it may apply.
