Re: Agent failed to communicate with ePO Server

Sequence errors most commonly happen in situations where there are duplicate agent GUIDs or where computers are restored back to a previous setting in other words, restoring to previous in snapshots on a virtual machine that has an agent connected to an ePO server

In your case I think it is the MAC of your server.

Re: Agent failed to communicate with ePO Server

alexn....is there anyway I can verify it is the MAC, and if so how can I resolve that issue.

Re: Agent failed to communicate with ePO Server

For testing the cause of this issue.

If you have physical access on any client machine plz do the following

OPen Registry editor Expand Machine>Software>Network Associate >ePO>Agent>

Look for the GUID value >Delete.

Restart McAfee framework service on client.

Re: Agent failed to communicate with ePO Server

I've already tried that on a few machines and it continues to fail to communicate with the ePO server.

Re: Agent failed to communicate with ePO Server

I'd strongly suggest opening a case with Support for this - this looks like a slightly confusing case which is going to need full log files and so forth to analyse.

Thanks -

Joe

Re: Agent failed to communicate with ePO Server

From time to time, I have one of the systems I manage do this. Uninstalling and reinstalling the Agent has fixed this problem many times for me.

From Command Prompt "Run as Administrator" (which is in Accessories),

C:\Programs Files\McAfee\Common Framework\FrmInst.exe /forceuninstall

Then reinstall the agent using FramePkg.exe.

Re: Agent failed to communicate with ePO Server

I did what you suggested earlier in regards to the sequence errors and I just ran another query without any showing up. But, I am still coming across agents unable to communicate.

Re: Agent failed to communicate with ePO Server

Hi allyb585,someone suggested ina another post to upgrade McAfeee Agent Key Updater to the latest version (for example MA Key Updater 4.6 patch 3 if you're using MA 4.6 patch 3),maybe you can try this on one or two computer and see if t does the trick or not?

Re: Agent failed to communicate with ePO Server

Re: Agent failed to communicate with ePO Server

I need to point out to everyone that MA 4.5 is actually unsupported since June 30th.

If you open a support call per Joe's recommendation upgrade to 4.6 or later will be required.

Current agent is 4.8 and v5.0 is not far off the horizon.

Just a gentle reminder
