Agent Handler Event Parser service terminated unexpectedly

For some reason one of our agent handlers is giving issues were the event parser services terminates unexpectedly. Its on version 4.6.3. I have been seeing that this servers network is getting maxxed out. Would that cause this services to terminate if it cant communicate with the ePO for a few seconds ? I cant see anything obvious wrong and I have tried everything short from upgrading. But we cant upgrade because we would need to upgrade the entire ePO

Re: Agent Handler Event Parser service terminated unexpectedly

I will start checking the DB connectivity from AH to SQL server with the help of UDL (KB#: KB70929).

If connectivity is fine then while installing AH, did you select the option 'use ePO DB credentials' and in ePO \core\config page you are using Windows user whose password have been expired and you changed it.

Was my reply helpful?

Re: Agent Handler Event Parser service terminated unexpectedly

We have 7 AH and they all connect to the DB using DB creds. So this hasnt change or permissions on that account. And the service strats right up once it failed.

Re: Agent Handler Event Parser service terminated unexpectedly

This sounds very much like item 13 in the Resolved Issues list for ePO 4.6.4 - the release notes are here:  PD24055

I would definitely recommend upgrading - the current 4.x version is ePO 4.6.6.

Re: Agent Handler Event Parser service terminated unexpectedly

Thanks Joe, So that would entail upgrading the entire ePO infrastructure to 4.6.6 ? Or can we just upgrade the AH to the new versions ?

Re: Agent Handler Event Parser service terminated unexpectedly

Both should be same version ePO as well as AH. So if you have planed to upgrade your AH to 4.6.6, you need to first upgrade your current ePO 4.6.3 to 4.6.6 then the AH.

Re: Agent Handler Event Parser service terminated unexpectedly

Just to confirm, this is correct - AHs must match the ePO server version.

Re: Agent Handler Event Parser service terminated unexpectedly

Yes, that is correct. The agent handler version as well as it's patch should exactly match with your ePO version and it's patch.

Thanks,

Manish
