Hey McAfee fans,
I have a problem.
I did an Agentupgrade from 5.0.4 to 5.0.5 on all my machines.
Since the update my AgentHandler in the DMZ stops working like every 30 minutes.
Sometimes it helps to restart the service, sometimes it doesn´t.
After a fresh install it will work for like 10 minutes and then stop. You see red marked text in the Agent-Monitor indicating that he´s not able to communicate to ePO (what was fine in the first 10 minutes).
I had a call open with McAfee and they couldn´t figure it out. The case went to a specialist.
In the meantime I tried to downgrade back to 5.0.4 so see if it helps and voila everything is up and running.
Now the "specialist" closed my ticket as the problem seems solved!?
Really McAfee? That´s it?
Someone here how can help me?
ePO version is 5.3.2
Anything in the Server_.log of the ePO server or Agent Handler server regarding the lost of communication?
It seems not as two technicians were not able to find anything that gave a hint to why it failed.
But it only was 1st level so maybe they didn´t see it.
Can you provide me the following information
Epo version running ?
Did you go through the release notes of agent 5.0.5 just to be sure it is compatible with the product and OS ?
Is VSE installed on the DMZ agent handler ?
Did you check access protection logs ? If at all AP is blocking any McAfee agent processes ?
ePO is 5.3.2 as mentioned above.
We have 5.0.5 running on several nodes with no problem. It´s Win Server 2008 R2, so yes it´s supported.
Yes VSE is also installed on the AH. Version 8.8 P9.
No I did not check these logs and now they are gone. This is a productive machine so I really wouldn´t like to go through all the process again.
So I tested with 5.0.6 and am having the same issues. Reverting back to 5.0.4 and everything is fine again.
What the hell did they change and why is it not communicated?
McAfee Support whants me to have unprotected systems in my DMZ for testing - this is hilarious.
Can anyone help here?
