Admin Account

Jump to solution

For the default "admin" account in ePO, is there a default password used for this or does each customer receive a one-time, unique password? I'm trying to show an auditor that a default password is not set on it, but don't know what the default password is (if any).

Hi rbenson09,

There is no default password to the Admin account. The password is set during an installation. Just incase if you do not remember your admin password, follow the below steps to reset it.

* If you are using EPO 5.10, open the console on EPO server and there is an option to restore your Admin password

* If it is EPO 5.9.1 type the below URL to restore your Admin password

https://localhost:8443/core

* You can even use EPIPA tool reset your admin password.

Choose the above option which ever is convenient.

Hello,

Thanks for your post.

Just wanted to confirm whether you are using ePO-Cloud MVISION or ePO On-Premise.

In ePO On-Premises we need to set up the password while installing it and that is the default password.

Hello @rbenson09 ,

That's okay if you forgot the password or dont have password for EPO, It can be changed, Just that you should have the database credentials.

5.10 :- Only 2 option to reset the password.

            1.  Through EPIP  tool, you can download the tool from product download site, run as

administrator > select change password > enter database credentials > Next and admin

                 password that should do.

            2.  Login to EPO server using mstsc or any mode > open browser and then type

https://localhost:8443/core/ > port should be which is configured in your environment and

Restore administrator password , that will ask you database credentials and your new epo

                 credentials  > that should do.

5.9.1 or lower versions:  there are 3 options.

            1. Login to EPO console with any credentials with administrator access > Click on Menu >

Users > select the account which you want to change the credentials> actions >

edit > change password and click on okay that should do.

            2.  Through EPIP  tool, you can download the tool from product download site, run as

administrator > select change password > enter database credentials > Next and admin

                 password that should do.
