Accidently Deleted a Group of Custom Queries instead of a single Query...

Jump to solution

I intended to delete an old unused Custom Query, but accidently selected "Group Actions" instead of "Actions" and deleted a whole group of very important queries.

Is there anyway to get these Queries back, or will have have to recreate all the Queries from scratch.

Is there something I can ask of my SQL Administrator to restore that would get these Queries back?

Thanks for your help!

If you need just the queries, then have the sql dba restore the backup with a different database name and location.

Now point your ePO server to use this restored copy (https://localhost:8443/core/config). Restart the ePO services.

Login and export the queries you need. (refer to ePO help for exact steps)

Reconfigure to point to the old database by repeating step 2.

Import the queries you exported earlier.

Queries are stored in the database, so as long as your SQL guy has a backup that can be restored you should be able to get them all back.

I don't want to lose the events collected since the last backup.

Does the whole SQL database have to be restored (and lose the events since the last backup) or can we do a more narrow restore and only lose changes I made in the ePO console?

If we could do a more narrow restore, what information would my SQL Admin need to do the narrow restore?

Thanks for your help!
