Access protection rules are blank after upgrade to 5.3.0

Hello,


After the upgrade of ePO from 5.1.1 to 5.3.0 build 400, we're no longer able to see Access protection rules in the "Access Protection Policies". Both windows are just blank.


Our case is similar to KB83641 and this thread -- ePO is/was installed on a non-C drive, however it worked perfectly fine with 5.1.1 and BOCVSE_1000 directory is not empty.


Here is what I tried so far with no success:


  • Tried to duplicate default Access protection rules (default one is empty too);
  • Pull Now the Master Repository;
  • Re-installation of VSE extensions;

None of this helped. It seems that Access protection rules is the only thing affected -- MOVE policies are shown OK.


Anyone with the similar issue?

We do have couple of customers reported this issue. Do you have ePO installation in non-root drive (other than C drive)? Do you have 8.3 naming convention setup correctly?

Please try the workaround below.

1. enabled 8.3 on volume using: fsutil.exe 8dot3name set d: 0 

2. rebooted system

3. removed extension and then checked it back in. (before removing the extension. Please export, VSE poilcies/policy assignment, client task/client task assignments)

4. re-imported policies and extensions

I have the same issue here, upgrading from 5.1.1 to 5.3.0 with the same VSE extensions installed

Just to jump in on this... are the rules not being displayed on the ePO server itself, or are they missing from the VSE console application on the desktop?

They are not being displayed within ePO. Still appear in the VSE console (but we are unable to make any changes since the rules are not being shown in ePO)...

I notice that is under the McAfee Default policy.  Do you have any entries under the "My Default" policy (if you have one)?  Does the same happen if you copy the Duplicate and rename the policy before making changes?

I used this as an example, all our custom Access Protection policies are blank. Same if I duplicate and rename

Same here.

Duplicating the Default policy doesn't help.
